Christmas at ADF traditionally includes helping those in need in addition to cookies and parties. In 2021, we decided to support the Hospice of St. Lazarus in Pilsen with a financial donation of CZK 62,000.
Hospice care does not add days to life, but life to days.
We will all perish (hopefully later rather than sooner)... And we all deserve our departure to be not only dignified, but if possible, happy and comfortable. And this is the mission of the Hospice of St. Lazarus. Compassionate and professional care is provided to patients in the final stages of terminal disease as well as to their loved ones by doctors, nurses, caregivers, social workers, and psychotherapists at the hospice. Patient care is not just about relieving pain and symptoms. The hospice staff helps them enjoy small pleasures of everyday life, such as going to a café or taking a trip to the zoo.
